5 Jeep Trails in Moab

We know that true jeep lovers understand that taking on the trail is an art form in and of itself. Is there anything more satisfying than hearing the triumphant roar of your well-oiled machine rumble over the rise and fall of the rocks? When you shut off the engine for the day and survey the damage, each little scuff and scratch on the body is like another stripe that your trailblazing tiger has earned. If you're as passionate about taking on the trail as we are, then you've always got your eye on the horizon for a brand new trail to make tracks on. If you plan on making an excursion to Moab anytime soon, then the following are five great jeep trails that you'll definitely want to consider checking out.

Cliff Hanger

Cliff Hanger is a trail that takes you up over 1,000 feet above Kane Creek for a gorgeous view to reward the tough haul. Before you reach the top of the ascent, you're going to have to mindfully navigate down Kane Creek road and pass through the dirt-paved crossing.

Moab Rim Trail

On the south end of the Colorado river is the vast Moab Rim trail, aptly named due to the way that it snakes along Moab's perimeter to provide you with a view of the La Sal Mountains and Spanish Valley. The trail has relatively good visibility for the most part, but you'll want to get ready for a very steep incline and sharp drop shortly after the first hundred yards.

Hell's Revenge

Hell's Revenge is one of the most well-known Moab trails, and for good reason. The trail is one that's best-suited for those with the experience and confidence to take their jeep over a series of tough climbs, narrow edges and serious drops. Hell's Revenge is situated just off of Sand Flats Road and gives you a good view of the river, but you'll definitely want to devote full focus to taking this one on from start to finish.

Poison Spider Mesa

The Poison Spider Mesa trail is one of the most well-maintained and aesthetically pleasant trails to take on in Moab. Like the Moab Rim Trail, the Poison Spider Mesa trail gives you a very pleasant view of the La Sal Mountains if you successfully traverse it. Completing the trail will take you over a series of switchbacks, a Navajo Sandstone canyon, and tough rocky climbs.

Coyote Canyon

Though Coyote Canyon may not appear to be all that much at first glance, this relatively short trail becomes a seriously tough ride very quickly. The trail wastes no time in putting you up against massive boulders and sharp switches as soon as you drive up into its mouth on the hillside, so be sure to bring nothing less than your best.

Summary

Coyote Canyon, Poison Spider Mesa, Cliff Hanger, Hell's Revenge and the Moab Rim Trail are all some of the best jeep trails to take on when you're in Moab; however, before you do so, you'll definitely want to rent a jeep wrangler that's fit for the job. At AwdRentals, we're committed to helping passionate jeep fans rent a jeep wrangler that does justice to their trail goals.
